I'm wondering if I was the only person who didn't know what these were - I've known the product for years and never known they were called spogs.

No idea, sorry.

FelicityBeedle · 02/09/2020 21:12

Having googled I had no idea either! I thing the name suits them though

CakeIsMyFavouriteAndBest · 02/09/2020 21:12

I have always called the blue and pink aniseed gummy sweets in licorice allsorts spogs. They are the only ones I like to eat in them!

Bunnybigears · 02/09/2020 21:13

Well I thought they were kids but that doesn't seem to fit

AlanBrazil · 02/09/2020 21:13

Sweets, like your common or garden corner shop variety

Dragonglass · 02/09/2020 21:13

I've had to google and I had no idea that's what they were called. You learn something new everyday Smile

bellajay · 02/09/2020 21:14

Spogs were sweets where I grew up.

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 02/09/2020 21:14

The weird and disgusting things in liquorice all sorts.

I tried one once and nearly threw up.

I really hope that's what you mean and it isn't some new fangled sex act or something

MusicWithRocksIn1t · 02/09/2020 21:14

If you're a fan of Terry Pratchett then they are the Nac mac feegles equivalent of sporrans.

Always thought the pink and blue all sorts were jelly sprogs?

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 02/09/2020 21:14

I mis-read it as sprogs

Like in Bridget Jones "when are you going to get sprogged up Bridge?"

Neither had I, they are my favourites of all the licorice allsorts (though I can't eat them now - allergies) so I was looking for a different aniseed sweet instead, that's how I found out.

They're my favourite ones and yes I did know thats what they're called.

RomaineCalm · 02/09/2020 21:29

When we were growing up 'spoggy' was chewing gum.

Had never heard of spogs - now I know!

StepCatsmother · 02/09/2020 21:43

Pink and blue jelly sweets with tiny sugar balls all over them - aniseedy flavour.

Can't eat just one, they are very moreish!

Think they are sometimes also called jelly buttons, but spogs is the right name ;)

goose1964 · 02/09/2020 21:51

We always new them as horse gums.
