To ask for help to name a puppy?

Please!

This little one - she's a Hungarian Vizsla - needs a name and I can't decide. I'm down to the final two, love both and just can't choose so please if you can tell me which you'd prefer I'd really appreciate it! The two names are:

Aster
Róise (ro-sha)

I'm Irish and currently have one Gaelic named dog and have had another in the past, but I also just love the name Aster.

I've name changed for this as anyone who I'm FB friends with will definitely recognise me Grin

I thought Aster before I said it and then it sounded a bit like I was saying Asda, might be my accent though. So I vote the other one

Roise. She’s very cute!

agododopushpineapple · 01/09/2020 20:51

Both are lovely. But I’d go with Aster has it has more of a “hard” sound. I imagine when shouting around the park Roise is a little too soft to get her to take notice
@WaltzingBetty my main breed is Working Cockers but I've had a Vizsla before. I'm a qualified R+ dog trainer and all my dogs have been/are working gundogs so I'm sure she'll keep me on my toes but I think we'll be ok! 😄
You're clearly a glutton for punishment!
Good luck with her, it sounds like she's landed on her feet Smile

Roise.

Although "Sweetie Pie" would fit just perfectly.

Aster. How adorable!

I had a friend at school whose Mother came from Hungary called Vanda her Dsis's were called Lotti and Dorka.
(I always thought Vanda was very exotic!)

Oh no, I hadn't thought of Aster=Asda! I don't think it sounds the same in my accent but maybe people might hear it as that anyway as it's such a household name 😂
