Uncomfortable living with PIL

Here for three weeks until our new house is ready.

I'm very close with them both but sometimes MIL is just moody and now I'm worried that it's me so I'm trying stay out the way a bit.
Not really an AIBU but I don't know what to do 😫

Do you mean that you are both moving away in three weeks? Because if I've read that right, surely she's moody about her son moving further away?

Invite her out for coffee now and again and make her feel appreciated. Pay for the weekly shop, involve her in making choices for your new home, even if it is just towels or cushions, make her feel like a friend rather than just someone who is putting you up for 3 weeks. And give her plenty of space.

Don't take it personally x They were happy and excited for you to stay with them and I bet even if you asked now they wouldn't have it any other way - but sometimes the reality is different and living together there's nowhere to hide.
I lived with my in-laws for a few weeks years ago, and they've started with us in the past and it's not as easy or all happy and jolly all the time, that's normal. So please don't take it to heart just give her some space when she's having a bit of a moment or just wants ten minutes alone time etc etc xx

Everything was ok yesterday she chirped up. OH is taking his dad out today so me and the kids are stuck in the house. I feel lost don't know what to do with myself!

@ChicCroissant they've just bought a house 5 minutes away from our new one.
