I’m posting here for traffic. DH hasn’t been well. I personally don’t think it’s Covid from his symptoms I think it’s a urine infection as it hurts when he pees. He went for a test today to be on the safe side but it will be at least tomorrow before we get the results back. The thing is DD is due to start back at school tomorrow. I don’t have any symptoms either and DD (7) is full of beans. Do I send her tomorrow or wait until the results have come back?

If he had the test at 3.30 I'd expect the results through by tomorrow morning at the latest.

I had a temperature with stomach pains which localised to the traditional appendix presentation. Had to go to the local OOH GP, referred into hospital into a side room where I had a Covid swab etc, but they were working under the assumption it was the obvious thing (appendicitis) rather than Covid, although they took Covid precautions until the swab came back as negative!

So he shouldn't assume that they'll assume Covid with obvious other symptoms!

Op UTIs can be quite nasty in men. My OH took Covid test in north west England last week and the results took 4 days - that's a long time to wait before treatment for a UTI. Could you ring the doctors and ask if you can get a urine sample to them to get the ball rolling? Do you have anyone who will take a sample to doctors surgery for you?

I was annoyed last week when DS told me that one of his friends had been to a party even though her brother was awaiting test results.

He then tested positive the next day Angry

I would err on the safe side and keep children off until test results come back. If it is Covid and they are at school they may be asymptomatic and spread which is really unfair to others.

No, she shouldn't go to school according to the NHS.

The NHS website says:

Self-isolate immediately if:

you have any symptoms of coronavirus (a high temperature, a new, continuous cough or a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste)
you've tested positive for coronavirus – this means you have coronavirus
you live with someone who has symptoms or has tested positive
someone in your support bubble has symptoms or has tested positive

How long to self-isolate

If you have symptoms or have tested positive for coronavirus, you'll usually need to self-isolate for at least 10 days.

You'll usually need to self-isolate for 14 days if:

someone you live with has symptoms or tested positive
someone in your support bubble has symptoms or tested positive
you've been told by NHS Test and Trace

Keep everyone home until the test results. You could get the whole school shut down...

You may get the result by morning, depends on how quickly it gets to the processing centre

Hi all, I’ll be keeping her off until we get the results back. We’re in NW but I’m hoping it doesn’t take 4 days.

We don’t have any family around us that are able to take a urine sample to the doctors unfortunately, it’s just us
