To be sick of being in undiagnosed pain all the time

Hi,
I posted in general health but didn’t get any response so thought I’d try here.
I’m in my mid 20s and have suffered with chronic hip pain for YEARS. It radiates to my knee and I also have a sharp pain in my groin when I stand up from sitting which causes me to stagger and not be able to move my leg for a minute. (Not a great look)
I’ve had blood tests - it’s not RA, I had an x ray on my knees which is where I originally thought the pain was coming from. Other than that I’ve just been told “it’s muscle pain” “it’s joint pain” every time I’ve been to the GP. It hurts so much and most days, I can’t keep taking painkillers every day.
I was referred for physio which didn’t help. The woman said “you might have GTPS” but honestly the symptoms don’t fit with that - I have no sharp pain when I press my hip and I didn’t think that went on for like, over ten years.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I am so sick of it.

A good Chiropractor will be able to help. I think I had 5 sessions to fix my pain.

Hip dysplasia?

My chronic hip pain was disregarded for years, ended up in wheelchair and total hip replacement at age 38. I should have fought harder, get them to X-ray you and if you can go private I can recommend a supremely excellent surgeon!

Can I suggest you get a weight bearing X-ray (you stand on one leg) to investigate the stability of the pelvic girdle. You may have to insist on this but an MRI doesn't show mechanical instability in your pelvis - only the ramifications. Pelvic Partnership (they have a helpline) would be a good place to start chatting and there are practitioners they can recommend if this turns out to be an issue. Clearly an MRI would also be helpful but the weight bearing X-ray is key.

I'm lying awake with hip pain radiating down to my knee - I've got a labral tear diagnosed with an MRA (like an MRI). I've had the pain since my twenties. Hope you get it sorted!

Pelvic x-ray, at the very least. Hip MRI. Steroid injections by guided ultrasound, if indicated by MRI. Tumeric capsules (curcumin).

Try the curcumin in the meantime. Don't put up with being fobbed off like this.
