Posting for traffic as can't sleep as this is on my mind and no answer in another board ( prob because it's late)

My LL rang and said the agent will be arranging an electrician to come do an inspection on the electrics as there's a new legislation and needs to be done prior to new Tennancy signing in Dec

I've read online they check sockets etc. It says about being overloaded..
This is a 1940s house. The fuse box is a 1971 one it's had a breaker put in. But no fuses are labelled. It's a guessing game.

Sockets. We'll the lounge has 1 single socket and 1double. So therefore we have extention leads
Master bedroom 1 x double
Small bedroom 1 x double.. Teen room so xbox etc so extentions again
Middle room 1 double and another thta I think has been spurred off from the ajoining wall from master bedroom. However only 1 plug hole works.
Dining room 1 single socket

Conservatory. Triple light switch but only 2 lights.? Guessing maybe an old outdoor light but we can't find any wiring.. One of the switches often doesn't switch off so we have to remove bulb with a towel as it's obviously hot as been on.
.
Are they likely to suggest more sockets installed? We get by and don't give it much thought. We've just decorated so the thought of a re wire is a bit pants but obviously for safety or legislation I understand.

Also the washing machine has a socket behind. Which obviously if there was a need to switch off in emergency we'd have to pull out the machine.. No isolation switch. I queried this at the time with the electrician ( believe he was more a handy man the landlord sent as had other issues and told didn't need an isolation point)
No isolation switch for cooker etc rhat we can see nor fridge etc. (. Not sure if meant to but our old place did)

Any info or experience greatly appreciated

Hiya
According to sparky OH isolation switches not an issue.
They can recommend more plug points but doubt they would make you get more. They might also recommend you switch off extension cables when not in use. Doubt they’ll make any changes until they get new tenants in if at all if it’s deemed safe. Why were you decorating a rented house? If you’re planning a long rental would it not be worth then putting new sockets in if they do offer?

To switch them off would mean pulling out the furniture.
We've been here a year and they've said now doing 3 years a time

Decorated as in a lick of paint etc. LL agreed he also reimbursed the costs upon showing the receipts. Which we did wihh most but some we lost which I don't mind. He said he just wants us to feel its our home and do as we wish within reason.

I only say not wanting to because of the upheaval.. The house was in poor condition when we moved. Worse than we thought which is why we contacted LL not agent as they sent cowboys to rectify things but made worse and its taken all this time to get it sorted. The LL is great and wasn't aware of the issues in fairness as the agent said it was all fine. Thankfully he's great and we generally call him direct when there's an issue.
