How much money in wedding card?

My partner is going to his friends wedding, me and our daughter are not attending as due to covid it’s a small 30 person church ceremony followed by drinks etc at his parents home. I’ve only been to close family members weddings before where we have bought a nice gift but since I don’t really know the couple we are opting for money in a card. How much would you put in?

I usually give £50 if invites to day and £20 if invited just to evening

For a general friend (I.e. not super close and not family) I normally would give £100.

I think as your husband is going alone £50 would be more than fine.

Anywhere between £50 and £100 but I’m guessing your DH is important to the bride and groom to be one of the 30 permitted to attend so really it comes down to whether he feels the same way and what is affordable.

£100 is the norm here

@TheIckabog

If I remember rightly, the modern equivalent of half a crown is 12.5p. Obviously that doesn't take account of inflation, just a direct translation.

Huh? He's one of 30 people, surely he knows them very well. I'm struggling to see why your knowledge of them factors at all.

£50
