To be dreading making packed lunches every day?

I know AIBU in a way, and obviously whatever it takes to prevent the spread of Covid is a good thing. But is anyone else dreading making (multiple) packed lunches every.single.day?

No school dinners, an endless line of wilted sandwiches until Christmas... Sad

Or does anyone have any great ideas for exciting lunches? I’ve never thought I’d be the kind of mother who gives their child stew in a thermos but it’s been a surprising year...

If it's any help for ideas, I've just started a packed lunch instagram - @myhubbieslunchbox

Good luck, I'm pleased I only have ours to do! Smile

No hot lunches here either but school are still providing cold meals (sandwiches, pasta, wraps etc) that can be eaten in the classroom bubbles.

Just send them a sandwich and an apple ffs!

My secondary is doing hot dinners, my eldest is a combo of packed lunches and dinners, she looks at the menu and decides, in the inter I prefer them having a hot meal during the day.

I hate packed lunches, they always start off good but we loose inspiration I’m thinking of a thermos for various things to mix it up a bit

My colleague used to make 5 rounds of sandwiches on a Sunday and freeze them. Then he just grabbed one each day. I have not tried this so can’t comment on whether it works or not.

I get DS to do his own lunch. He's 6.

Sandwich, yog, cheese, fruit, biscuit.

He sometimes has lasagne/carrot soup/mac n cheese in his flask.

Sandwiches seem to go down well if they are made with burger buns. I get that this isn't great nutrition, but I pick my battles

Both of mine are having packed lunches. I'm slightly excited but that's only because they haven't been able to have them at school before.
I'm aiming for lots of little no effort items. I suspect DS will want to prepare his own as he likes making meals and DD has lots of ideas already
