Why does this irritate me so much?! Isn't it one to one?
One on one time with my DC..no!!!! It's one to one FFS!! Isn't one on one sexual?
Perhaps its my age? Confused

You're not yourself when you're hangry 🤷🏻‍♀️

You’re right...but it’s one of those things that has just fallen into common parlance. My particular hatred is “meeting with”, but I know I, fighting a losing (lost!) battle! I didn’t “meet with you” today, I met you. The “one on one” thing is similar, I think; language evolves over time and what would previously be seen as wrong becomes the new normal. As such, I don’t think (in that context, at least) there’s a sexual connotation any longer. Once something has “ground your gears” (to use a MN favourite phrase), you really can’t help finding it irritating thereafter though, so I do sympathise....!

I expect I am being petty, but I genuinely haven't heard people in real life talking about one on one time with family or friends but ALWAYS on here! I need to get a life!
