To think that most people with kids won't follow restrictions after schools return

I live in Greater Manchester, most people are not following the restrictions at the moment; kids play together from different households, no real social distancing, people in each others houses, not many masks in shopping centres (trafford centre) .... when the schools go back my eldest will be in a bubble of 180 with teachers changing classes (the teachers will be in bubbles of 1000 as with all different years), throw in the bus to school, siblings etc. What will be the point of restrictions on the rest of everyday life? I fully understand this point of view as it seems crazy to not have grandparents/ friends in your home but kids (some older teenagers) can mix with 100's at school. Surely this will lead to a rise in cases?

I think a rise in cases is inevitable as we get back to some kind of normal life, which we absolutely have to. But those cases will predominantly be amongst the young, far less likely to be affected seriously and o not correspond to an inevitae rise in deaths. I am a teacher with kids at school to and will be pretty much operating as normal with the addition of hand washing and masks. I will be taking more care around my vulnerable parents but unfortunately as a SP they help with childcare so we'll all just have to try and mitigate the risks but it's a balancing act.

I wonder if the intention is that we are lead to going back to normal without being told to do so in policy, so that the general public get the blame if we do have another spike.

I really feel for school staff, it seems bonkers that we're told to wear masks everywhere else but schools. I hope your return goes well x

Thank you. I'm really not concerned to be honest and issues of blame are irrelevant at this stage. It's time wasting political game playing. Watching Gavin Williamson trying to wheedle his way out of the exams fiasco and getting his soundbite of 'World class education' in every 5 mins was pathetic. I just hope the country as a whole can find a calm and sensible balance.

I cant see any point in anyone following any rules when they go back to school. My child is in a high school bubble of a 100 odd and sits 3 to a desk meant for two, so no social distancing. No gaps between desks. So basically mixing with a whole town.
