To ask about the best BBQ/garden party you’ve been to?

Having two BBQs this weekend for DPs birthday (having to split numbers due to Covid as we can’t have everyone at once)

I’ve sorted all the food, balloons, music etc but now just thinking about any little extras that would make it really special. We were originally meant to be going away so I’ve still got a couple of days off beforehand to do any preparations.

Any suggestions for what has made a really good BBQ or garden party for you?

Alcoholic punch is always a good idea. Get everyone drunk so they don't notice if the food is overdone.... 🥴🧐

We usually host in the summer, and obviously I can't be sure but I think people enjoy it! We put two long tables together with a v long table cloth, flowers as a centrepiece, paper plates set for 20, then I tend to do something like burritos so one big pot and all the other bits prepped in advance. Then we all sit down together which I love and I'm always relaxed because I don't have to do anything. Brownies or fruit /donuts for dipping in chocolate for pudding. Ooh I have loads of cheap champagne flutes so they always look good lined up with fizz!

I always cook jacket potatoes for a bbq low and slow in the oven wrapped in foil, then chuck them either on or in the bbq for a bit. They always go down a treat.
