To think Y6 boys school shoes dont exist for bigger feet?

... without paying a premium? Posted in clothes and shoes board but I'm getting antsy now and need to crowdsource so posting here for traffic!

DS was a size 7 when last measured so maybe a 7.5 now as he's not majorly outgrown his current size 7 trainers. As hes going to be running about a lot and playing football (sincerely hope so anyway!) I'm after the younger styles with the moulded toe shield bit, and while hes able to do laces, velcro straps would be better. Also, budget is small as I'm not convinced they'll get used very much tbh with C19 likely resulting in home learning for who knows how long. Everywhere I've looked the cheaper end shoes stop at 6. Please hit me with your ideas!

Replace laces with elasticated laces with a push-button-release-thing. DS is also size 7 and I've had to buy him adult shoes and replace the laces.

rabbitheadlights · 26/08/2020 15:57

My ds is a 7.
He has wide feet. His schools policy is plain black trainers no logo visible I. E a big bold Nike tick etc
The only trainers he finds comfy are air max or flux.
Flux he would kick fronts through in 1 month.
So got air max £90 🤯 but I can't deal with trawling shops trying them on with a toddler and a baby. We knew they fit so did online

I recommend Treads shoes, I’m not sure on the Velcro side but my Son is a size 11 (he’s 15) and has had these for the last couple of years and they have been brilliant, they’re around the £35/£40 price mark if I remember correctly

DS is 13yo and in a size 13. We're screwed

Feellikedancingyeah · 26/08/2020 17:23

Humphries shoes online. Rhino Warrior shoes up to men's size 9 with velcro straps or laces

mumofpickles · 26/08/2020 17:27

Another vote for treads they have a 12 month indestructible guarantee!

No, Clark's outlet will have shoes.

I have 2 teen DS with adult size 13 feet, they're bigger than their dad's!!

Parmavioletgin1 · 26/08/2020 20:59

@itsgettingweird
We use these type of elastic laces for our child with disability, if we can't find a velcro shoe, they have proved quite useful.
