To ask how much you pay a month on mortgage?

I know it’s a bit cheeky and therefore not something I could ask people in real life, so I’m hoping it’s ok to ask here!
So, what are your monthly mortgage payments and what do you have to pay off? At the moment we have relatively small payments but we also have a very small house. We’re looking for a new house at the moment and have spoken to a mortgage advisor etc so have all the figures as a guide. The new payments are a lot more but I wondered what was the “average really. I know it only matters what we can afford, I just wondered what others have. Thanks.

OP our mortgage is the same, £1600 per month but our monthly income is higher so the % is lower. I think any more than a third of your income on your mortgage starts to make it quite tight unless your other outgoings are minimal.

There might be an app or website you could put everything you spend into to see what you're left with and decide whether you're happy with that?

14.8% net income according to the percentage calculator website!

Ours is 15% of our income. We pay £600 per month.

About 30% of my income and still have about x3.5 annual income to pay off.

I used to earn more, do even though I've paid off 12 years of the loan, technically I think the bank wouldn't let me remortgage for the same amount because it would be considered "unaffordable" on my current income. I've been living in this set up for 5 years though and can clearly afford it.

RainRain that’s the problem we have, the next step house wise here is just so expensive. It’s crazy but if we want a bigger house and to stay here then that’s how much it is.

About £600 a month, its a bit over 20% of take home pay. We often don't feel like we have much money spare though after child care, food, bills etc...

3400 left after mortgage is more than we have pre mortgage for a family of 4 so can't be a problem surely?

I just moved into my house 2 months ago. Mortgage is £300pm. I have around £60k left to pay off. House cost £100k, I had £40k deposit. Goal is to have the mortgage paid off by the time I'm 50 (I'm 30). My income is £2k per month.

I'm lucky to live in a cheap area and I don't want or need a massive house, I'm a single parent of one child and my house is a 2 up 2 down Victorian semi.

We bought a £185,000 house with £151,000 mortgage and repayments are around £700 a month give or take.
