To wonder what to do with neighbours parcels?

Dp accepted a few parcels for neighbour a few doors down over 2 weeks ago. We’ve been round several times since to no answer, popped a note through door, no reply. The packaging has the name of the retailer (Well known clothing store) so I contacted them on live chat, they seemed confused that I couldn’t give them my account number 🙄 and asked me to call the helpline. Staff equally confused by the situation, passed about and put on hold, then cut off! What am I legally meant to do with them now? 😐

@Devlesko

It's dp problem, why are you even getting involved? is he one that palms it off for you to sort out? lol.
Are people really this pedantic in their marriages? No problem shared, no helping each other out?

@MeMyselfAye

Didn’t even think to open them and check for a returns label! Did try calling again but the hold times are ridiculous.

Dp did accept the parcels and has been round several times, however I’m fed up of looking at them so wanted to sort it.

Put a final note through the door. Tell them they have 24 hours to collect. When the 24 hours is up, leave them by their door and take a picture of them. Then if they get nicked you'll have proof you left them there for them and they're not your packages.

Open the parcels, wait til they come round to ask for them and when you open the front door be wearing every single item. And deny all knowledge.

And never take parcels in for people you don't know. I take them in for our neighbours because they're lovely. I'd refuse the rest of the street because I don't know them and I'm not keen on folk.

Are your neighbours okay? Has anyone seen them? Id be a bit concerned whats happened to them if its been over 2 weeks

I dont really see this as the massive issue everyone on this thread seems to think it is. Id keep it another day or two and then just put it on their doorstep or return to sender. Its really not a 'this is why i never take in parcels for neighbours' lesson

All this drama. Don't keep going round and knocking on the door. Just put them somewhere out the way and forget about it. When they are back from holiday they will call round for them. If they don't turn up after 3 months then you can think about disposing of them. In the meantime you have a duty of care so don't open them or interfere with them in any way.

Did he have to sign for them? If not then leave on doorstep. If they get stolen it’s not your problem. Have you actually seen them? As they could be away and not purposely ignoring you in which case just return to sender as they may not be back for a long time.
Love the idea of wearing them Grin

Leave on doorstep. Even if they get taken, no one will be coming for you at this point.

Any update @MeMyselfAye? I'm intrigued why they don't want their parcels.
