To ask how many of you here have a prolapse?

It's a weird question I know.

The reason I ask is because I have one myself and nobody I know, other than my DM, has had one (or admitted to having one)

I have a mild/moderate cystocele (bladder prolapse) and slight uterine descent.

I'm only 26 and it does get me down, i believe mine is the result of a very difficult child birth. It also worries me in the sense that I can't do high impact exercise, run or lift my child (big heavy 3 year old now) for fear of it getting worse.

Is it as common as my DM wants me to believe? I'm yet to speak to anybody else who has the same. Least of all people my age Sad

Vaginal one here. Happened when I was 50, probably combination of vaginal birth and lifting disabled child. Was very troubling at first, hardly notice it now.

Very sudden front and rear prolapse which consultant said was ‘minor’ and wouldn’t do anything about. It was like having a golf ball wedged up my nethers! I bought a Kegel8 and saw a difference within a month. Doesn’t cure the problem or put things back the way they were, but I’m much more comfortable now.

Prolapses are very common. In terms of labour, they are often associated with prolonged pushing in the second stage and/or instrumental births which tend to go hand in hand. Labour itself is not the only risk factor though. Many women do not actually realise they have one until peri/menopause hits and oestrogen levels starts to deplete.

Me! I'm 30 and have grade 3 uterine and grade 2 cystocele and bowel. Actually in the waiting room at physio now!!! I have urodynamocs next week and hopefully surguy soon to help.

It's been 2 years.of awfulness including having to use Peristeen and I'll never be able to have any more children... But I'm here with you, OP!

I do. But only found out after having a ct scan and reading through the notes, I've never actually been told so it must be pretty common! I've had one child and I'm 30.
