To think Facebook should do something about the scammers.

It's bad enough that my feed is now choked up with random ads (mostly for pretty boring looking games) but I am shocked by how many of these ads turn out to be scams.

A recent example: animatronic angel wings for sale. A video (which turned out to be from a chap on DeviantArt who had made them for himself.) And a lot of stills which turned out to be from Etsy and featured wings that weren't actually animated at all. I can't find any independent reviews on this but I assume you get nothing for your money since these wings don't actually exist.

Or the galaxy light. Turns your room into the cosmos. Except if you order this. They send you nothing at all according to many trustpilot reviews..

Many many clothing sites using photos from other sites and knocking the prices down

What these all have in common is you get sent nothing at all for your money (or at best a nasty copy)

The prices often give these sites away but not always and not everyone will see the discrepancies or think to check it out first.

AIBU to think FB needs to monitor this better and screen their ads?

Ok so 2 people think I'm unreasonable but don't say why.
I understand buyer beware and all that but frankly a lot of people are pretty naive. If they weren't, these scams would die out.
But hey ho

Fb tend to clamp down pretty hard on user spam but paid for ads can scam people with impunity? Just seems wrong to me.
