Yeah I know it's a type of MLM and everyone here on NM's think their brain dead scammers wasting their time blah blah blah but......

I'm thinking about joining Ann Summers.I fancy a discount on undies, pjs etc etc as I like their stuff.Am setting up a Facebook group as may as well share the discounted love with my mainly female friends and family

Anyway need inspirations for names for my group;all non derogatory ones welcome.

P.S if you're only commenting to give me some grief;please don't;thanks very much.

Ann summers are in partnership with porn hub. The disgusting website that knowingly hosts content of children being raped (including in nappies) and suggests child rape terminology when the name of well known victims is typed into the search bar. But it's all just a giggle innit?

Anybody who signs up to Ann Summers needs private dental insurance. Those vibrators can cause no end of damage ... Grin

I am old, when I knew of Ann Summers it was just a hen-do type tat tack cheap thrill feather boa, furry handcuff, jessica dildo deal - later they used Glitterball alumni James and Ola Jordan for cringeworthy ads. So yes, it was a laugh afaiknew...porn hub affiliations do put a different slant on it aye.

Ann summers are in partnership with porn hub

Not anymore they aren't. Granted they shouldn't have been selling those toys in the first place, but they pulled them and cut all ties fairly quickly (following some pressure). Fair enough those who feel it's still problematic and don't wish to shop there (I haven't been in one for years), but it's not true that they are in partnership.

Don't do it.

Why? Thinking of signing up.
Atalantea · 25/03/2021 21:36

(not my post)
this is from 2015

I signed up a few years ago and dropped it a few days later as the rep I joined under was very sneaky in hiding all the information until I was handed my information pack and she'd left. I think I worked it out as having to make a minimum of £200 in sales from each party before I made any profit.

Note: this is all based on when I signed up a couple of years ago

Things to factor in are the fact a hostess's gift and their % off has to come out of your commission, both optional but a customer is going to go with the rep who gives them the most. In order to run a fun party you need to play games (that have prizes) and have a raffle (again a prize needed). When I joined there was a £10 monthly cost for your kit which you had to keep updated, catalogue costs and packaging/bags.

I think the commission is 30% (or it was then) but like I said you can lose a third to a half of that to the hostess.

I also tried Avon about 7 years ago and owed them after my first order because again they didn't tell me I needed to pay for all the paper side of the business.

How much you earn really does vary, with any DS company it depends on how much time and effort you put in, as well as your outgoings to be with that company. Some require a one off fee/signup, others a monthly and some none at all though you don't tend to get anything to help with those (like a kit or website). One person might be earning £1000 a month but it turns out you can't get past £50 whereas someone might only earn £10 and it turns out you do a lot better. I hope that makes sense.
