is a MN user and will realise the thread is about them? Has this ever happened?

I like to read the complete fabrications that my DHs ex posts about him and her life in general on here, still even after 6 years. We have a good laugh at the fantasy land she lives in. I find it especially amusing when she gives out relationship and DV advice because she was physically violent(witnessed by all the kids) then had a months long affair with her best friends DH, that everyone in the town knew about, including the children who caught her naked with him while their dad was at work, and eventually she moved him in literally the week after she kicked DH out. Classy. Not someone to take heed of at all.

Obviously I’m very glad she did that because he’s amazing, literally the perfect husband. She must’ve been nuts to cast him aside but her loss is my gain!

It has taught me never to believe a word anyone says online, ever. And especially don’t base any big life decisions on advice people dole out on here because it’s likely to be total bullshit.

It does occasionally happen.
I suspect someone who knew me well could pick up who I was if they could be bothered.

However if I'm posting about someone I'll often change a detail or two, and wouldn't put out an exact text/message. Something that would make people think, "not sure that is really me."
And I wouldn't start a negative thread about someone, for that reason.

I have twice spotted someone I know. One was a friend of a friend who posted the same thing on fb and on mn. I replied (under a different name) the same thing on fb and on mn to basically warn them that it was obvious.
And another was a friend who posted a lost or found toy (can't remember which) on here and she'd messaged me a few hours earlier to ask me to see if I could check because she knew I was going there a few days later.

@Lazysundayafternoons

Can anyone link to the lemon drizzle cake thread? Have tried searching and cant find it.
Found this thread (eventually) which has a link to the first thread in it.

A thread was about me once. I was too shocked to read the responses. So much of it had been twisted to fit a narrative which just wasn't accurate. It's definitely taught me to remember that there are multiple sides to people's posts.

I’ve recognised more than one person (and the subject of their post on here). I’ve also been the subject of a post.
