to give my DH chores to do, and then time him, FLYlady style, when he's off sick with man flu

he did actually say that he was moping about with nothing to do.

I had let him watch telly all morning until then [kind wife emoticon].

now he says IABU, and has advised me to start this thread so I can see just how truly unreasonable I am .

(Though he's trudged off and done the chores that I allocated.)

(And I timed him.)

I'm behind with this week's missions and every five minutes counts

If you don't know what I'm talking about look here

well.... if he asked for something to do, then deffo YANBU

Vikkin · 04/10/2007 14:24

YANBU.
More help now, more quality time later. No Flylady missions being completed at 11.42 tonight (that's when I usually shine my sink).

SpookyBearistheSpookyBear · 04/10/2007 14:25

He didn't ask for a job. But he did say he was bored.

Yeah but ManFLU doesn't actually have any medically recognisable symptoms does it...I mean it is all moaning isn't it?

Moaning does not prevent FLYing does it - in the same way that fatigue or nausea does?

When he's finished send him over here...I havn't done any missions this week, and I am proper poorly...(well I am 80% better bow but don't tell him that )

SpookyBearistheSpookyBear · 04/10/2007 14:28

Get well soon SMS!

I think it's the timing aspect of it that he has found particularly disturbing

Vikkin · 04/10/2007 14:32

Poor love, they don't react well to the timing do they.
Tie a Vicks inhaler on a string round his neck so he can self-medicate whilst FLYing.

Theclosetpagan · 04/10/2007 14:39

Ah - hope you soon feel better Mr SppokyBearistheSpookyBear.

Your DW is behind with her weeks work so you can't stop yet.

gibberish · 04/10/2007 14:49

YAabsolutelyNBU

You were only thinking of him after all - giving him chores and timing him to boot all helped keep his mind from dwelling on his man flu. He'll thank you for it later.

Plus, next time he thinks a bout of man-flu is in order, he may rethink

Simply · 04/10/2007 15:34

I second gibberish's post.

lizziemun · 04/10/2007 15:45

I would say he must have a bad case of "man flu", i mean what sane man would suggest you start a thread asking if you are being unreasonable .

and no yanbu.

EmsMum · 04/10/2007 15:51

Did your DH expect sympathy from MN?

Women do housework when they are poorly. Tcha.

But do be very appreciative that he's helped and make him a nice cuppa. Frankly my DH wouldn't do chores to order even if he wasnt under the weather.

Cappuccino · 04/10/2007 15:55

oh but timing him was the kind thing

so he does not do too much

that's the whole point

my dh used to spend ages doing the vacuuming once a month till I said he was supposed to only take 15 mins

it is freeing for them

gibberish · 04/10/2007 16:06

LMAO Cappuccino

SpookyBearistheSpookyBear · 04/10/2007 19:39

our house used to get vacuumed once a month.

then we got a cleaner, so it got vacuumed twice a month.

then I started flying, so it now gets done at least once a week .
