Noom weight loss app

I started the questionnaire for Noom personalised weight loss plan app. It sounded very good until a feee trial turns into £119 after two weeks. (With an option to cancel) what I liked about it was it offered to cover my problem: emotional and stress eating.
I’ve put on 1stk W in the past year and feeling pretty miserable about myself. Is there any mums at noomers? Reviews are good but sometimes I think they’re paid reviews.

I have found it very good and quite different from other options e.g. the personal coach and support group

Watching w interest

Keep declining and the price goes down and down again.

I did the free trial and thought it could be good for me but I'm just not in the right frame of mind to carry on. If you tell them you'll be cancelling they offer you a reduced price as a PP says

Blueskysunsout · 21/08/2020 15:38

I’m just scared to sign up then have a nightmare cancelling.

I did it until I got pregnant. The psychological side of it is very effective if you are committed to actually doing the work, and it was a very healthy re-framing of habits that had a lasting effect for me.

It's not hard to cancel at all. You do it through the app. They offer you a discount and you say no. There's no pressure.

I found it brilliant, but with the massive caveat that it does take alot of mental reserves to do. I have reframed my eating (as previous posters also mentioned)

I'm about a year on from when I did 12 weeks of proper weight loss (which worked) actually, I have put the weight back on and considered doing noon again, but actually I'm pretty happy even with lockdown pounds, as I feel far more informed about it.

I've found it great for what I needed. I have come to quite like logging all my food and the group aspect is good. In a gentle and jokey way, it educates you about the science. I aim to lose 20kg and have managed 6 so far in 7 weeks.

Ofalltheginjoints · 21/08/2020 16:34

I joined Noom during lockdown and I’m 17lbs lighter so I’m really enjoying it!
It isn’t hard to cancel at all (in fact when I wrote discharged into a message to my coach it tried to cancel my account as it flagged a keyword)

There is also the option to pay monthly if that’s helpful it has been for me as I wanted the option to cancel after the first month if I didn’t like it

SpeckledFrogsLog · 21/08/2020 16:41

Is it based on calorie counting? I’ve looked at it but am not interested in anything that involves gimics, eg points or syns! I prefer just logging my food, watching my calorie intake and trying to keep my carbs lowish. However I do have psychological issues around food which I’d like to address.

Phineyj · 21/08/2020 17:17

They recommend a calorie limit but you can eat what you like. They supply you with a dinky little graph each day of how what to eat breaks down into green, orange and red. It's not fiddly at all but it takes perhaps 15 mins to read the info they send each day and log what you eat.

I pay £19 a month which fits in my budget and it’s helped me a lot. I’ve a lot to lose but I’ve shifted 11kg in 12 weeks so far. And most importantly for me I’ve fallen off the wagon a few times but I’ve kept getting back on.
