Passing large blood clots - help?!

I’m posting here because it’s 4am and I cannot go to the hospital right now. I just want to see if anyone has any other advice/knows whether this is a serious thing/has had it before, until I can go in the morning when my parents can have my baby.

I had ulcerative colitis, in 2015 I had my large bowel removed. They say the UC is no longer present as the effected area has been removed but it’s been hell ever since.

Anyway, the past few days I’ve had like a fluttering movement in my lower abdomen - almost like the first few flutters in pregnancy. I’ve been incredibly tired and last night I had a horrendously bad stomach ache which lasted about 10 minutes and then passed.

Today I have been stuck to the toilet with constant watery diarrhoea, I don’t even know how many times. At one point I was on the toilet for an hour.

This evening I have started bleeding from my bum, bright/darkish blood, like a heavy period. The toilet water was dark red and it was dropping. There were a few very small clots.

The last time I’ve been I am bleeding again - this time have passed a big clot.

Have taken my temp and it’s 36.8. So obviously I don’t need to rush to A&E, right?

I know it’s weird to post here, but I’ve tried to joined countless IBD groups on Facebook but haven’t been accepted yet as it’s so late, and I don’t know where else I can ask for advice on what it could be, whether anyone else has experienced it or what I can do.

I think you should phone 111. It doesn't sound right to me. Flowers

RealMermaid · 20/08/2020 04:22

You need to call 111 at the very least. If you are bleeding heavily I would seriously consider 999.

bluesoup1 · 20/08/2020 04:25

Call 111 at the very least. Hope you're ok.Thanks

Call your parents, ask them to come over right away, go to the hospital.

Hi, it sounds like you might have developed Crohns (IBD) it’s linked with UC & often a person can have both, my Crohns is in my small bowel, but can be anywhere from mouth to anus. Do you have a IBD nurse or gastroenterologist? First thing is to get a stool sample so they can test your calprotectin levels. The fluttering feeling can be spasms in the small bowel. If you don’t have IBD nurse, call your gp first thing or if still bleeding go to A&E where they will hopefully get you a consult. Hope it eases, nothing worse than this & not knowing what’s going on.

Signs of internal bleeding is serious. Go to the hospital

I’ve called 111 and they’ve told me to go to A&E within the next hour. Managed to get through to my mum after a few calls and going to drop DS off on the way. A bit scared as I didn’t realise it was that serious due to having had bowel issues for so long. Never had these big clots before though.

Oh my goodness. I hope you are okay. Let us know how U get on

Started reading your thread with GO TO A&E screaming in my head and thankfully read your last update before I stuck my oar in. There is nowhere else you should be. I hope all goes well and that you're not long waiting or in pain/discomfort. Don't be backwards about coming forwards if you're left sitting and are getting worse.

tiredandunoriginal · 20/08/2020 09:22

Hi everyone, just wanted to update. They checked me out and said I am in a moderate flare of ulcerative colitis. I didn’t realise but I apparently have a small section of my large intestine left and that is where the colitis is and where the blood is coming from. I’ve been given a month’s worth of steroid enemas and they’re going to monitor it to make sure it doesn’t get worse. Thanks all for telling me to go x
