Kids back in camp and I’ve been informed that one of their friends have nits. Arg... I thought the benefit of lockdown was at least these feckers would be eradicated?? AIBU to be really peeved that they are back?
Also - I combed the kids hair through with conditioner and nitty gritty... got some black specks but nothing adult. Would it be too early to spot anything? Thank you

My kids are back in school and one of them came home with an adult. I'm hoping I caught it but another weekend with nitty gritty conditioner and hedrin on the horizon.

Unbelievable isn't it, yes, logically nuts should have become extinct in lockdown. Amazing.

The black specks might have been eggs. Or they were nothing to do with nits. If you comb through again in 2 days time you can work out whether you've escaped this time or not.

Eggs take 7 days to hatch so always worth a final final check after a week too.

nuts aren't extinct either...

Sweettea1 · 18/08/2020 20:29

Why would they have disappeared? Sadly lots of children don't get treated when they have them parents can't be bothered this would still be the case through lock down.

CherieBabySpliffUp · 18/08/2020 20:29

Nits would have only become extinct if everyone had treated them wouldn't they? If they aren't then they would have continued to hang around until now.

PlanDeRaccordement · 18/08/2020 20:31

Why would lice and nits “become extinct during lockdown”. The whole lifecycle cab continue ad Infinitum without other heads to spread to.

Unfortunately no.

My only child (in household) caught nits last week from one of the two children he has been allowed to play with.

It seems there will always be parents who can't/ won't deal with them, no matter how easy it is to deal with them in the current climate.

lol I was wondering the same! My DS has them at lock down, gave them to me 😮😱 and not seen any since April ... bloody hope that's it now - hideous feckers

R3ALLY · 18/08/2020 21:11

I guess I was naive enough to think everyone would treat them 😕. Thanks for the responses!
