Just seen myself in a full length mirror for the first time in a while and I’m disgusted. How do I get rid of this tummy 🤢
My youngest has just turned four so really no excuse! I’m disgusted with how I look

Gosh!! I was getting ready to be grossed out 😂
Just some healthy eating and exercising will fix that.
I lost some weight before I got pregnant. Intermittent fasting and only 1 meal a day. My age made it hard to lose it. 38 years on me!

Bananacloud · 17/08/2020 21:06

And there’s nothing gross about your tummyFlowers

Theterrible42s · 17/08/2020 21:06

Love, that's not disgusting, it's just a tummy. If it really upsets you there are things you can do to make it smaller, but please don't be disgusted by your body, that grew another human being inside it. And your skin is lovely.

VeniceQueen2004 · 17/08/2020 21:07

Your body made babies and keeps you alive - it's amazing, please don't despise it!

I am overweight too and currently 3 m pregnant - really hoping to motivate myself to eat better by thinking of the baby, and hoping to just maintain my current weight as pregnancy progresses.

Could you possibly motivate yourself to make good choices by thinking of your kids?

I think we let ourselves get this way by not loving ourselves very much, and it's hard to just switch on that self care overnight when self esteem is low. Maybe doing it "for the kids" could be the jumpstart you need a d the growing self-respect can then take over?

Good luck - it's bloody hard!!!

ttigerlilly · 17/08/2020 21:07

That's not disgusting at all Thanks just a beautiful tummy that has grown lovely babies

TheHumanRubbishBin · 17/08/2020 21:08

You can't lose fat from just one place, you have to lose it everywhere. It's simple - eat fewer calories & do more exercise - but not always easy.

No point insulting yourself & putting yourself down. Figure out your BMI, BMR & TDEE and come up with a plan. Ease yourself in to it, learn to enjoy it. Don't starve yourself or do a faddy diet and don't expect it to be instantaneous. It's a process that has ups and downs, even if you only have a little bit to lose.

Sorry you are feeling like this OP. I can really relate to that, not so long back I sat in my garden and cried after weighing myself for the first time during lockdown. I couldn’t believe how big I had got.

I would really recommend buying the Fast 800 book - I’ve been doing it for 7 weeks and have lost 22lbs. It really works and I feel more energetic, positive and happier than I’ve been in ages. There are threads on here about it and also some amazing groups on Facebook which will give you an idea of what to expect if you choose to follow that way of eating - search for the Fast 800 Diet Community.

Good luck - and try to be kind to yourself. It has been a very challenging year for lots of people.xx

You look like me in the belly region, I'm on week 3 of eating better and just finished week 1 of the 'our parks' couch to fitness programme.

If you want to lose weight start now, not tomorrow or next week, right now. Grab a glass of water, decide you're having no snacks this evening and a good breakfast tomorrow then you're going to the shops for some veg to bulk out your meals.

I'm 8lb down as of end of week 2, will be weighing on wednesday. You can. Join us on the Lose it! August 2020 thread if you want, we just chivvy each other along and try to offer advise if anyone is struggling.

Listen- in this hot weather I've seen men strolling around town with their tops off sporting far more rolls than that, and they strut around without a fucking care. Take their approach. That said if it bothers you a bit of good solid walking at pace every day for 45 mins will shift that in no time. x

SierraHotel · 17/08/2020 21:10

I thought it was going to be an ear wax video, bit disappointed now 😂
You can do it! Make a start, find what works and stick to it.

spinspinsugar55 · 17/08/2020 21:13

Ah no your belly is lovely, it housed humans!
I lost 2 stone a couple of years ago and thought I felt really good, I did clothes-wise, but keeping to the weight I got to was not sustainable. I’ve put back on 1.5 stone of that weight, and probs could do with losing at least half a stone. However at my age, 40, my stage in life with 4 kids, the brutal reality of what we’ve all been living through the past 5 months, I’m just trying to love my curves, my lumps my bumps my bits and bobs cos they’re not all that bad.
You’re not disgusting!!
( I thought I was gonna see one of those advert pics of stinky tonsil stones they keep showing on FB 🤢)

IdblowJonSnow · 17/08/2020 21:15

Was also looking fwd to a nice sporty abscess or similar!
Make a plan, you can lose it again! Most of us have been there at some point!

Idontknow23 · 17/08/2020 21:24

Easy to say but cut out the sugar, fat is not bad for you and some 'light' foods like low fat yoghurt actually put more sugar in to substitute the low fat so don't be fooled. Lift weights you won't bulk up but that is the fastest way to lose weight. Could try 30 day shred dvd

Rubbleonthedouble1 · 17/08/2020 21:28

Massively not helped by being poorly recently. Lost my entire left side and so can’t walk more than a few steps without falling over but I suspect I’ve looked like this for a while :(
I never see other women’s tummies! So not sure what normal women look like!!

Agree with pp about your lovely skin! I bet your 4-year-old loves to hug you. Mums need to be comfy. In terms of exercise, I have to say belly dancing really allowed me to appreciate my whole body, including the wobbly bits. I had a great teacher who was in her sixties at the time and had a body shaped like a lime but was a star and showed us all how much of it was attitude.

AnneLovesGilbert · 17/08/2020 21:33

No such thing as a normal woman, we come in many shapes and sizes.

Sorry you’ve been ill.
