To worry what this is

It's happened to me a few times before over the years. Rarely happens but it has.

I lie on my belly. I end up with a band of horrible cramping pain all the way across under my ribs. It's hard to breathe through it. You feel you can't sit or bend. Eventually it goes off.

It's just happened tonight. I have been feeling abit off the last couple of days with a bad head etc. Feeling better today but had a pain on breathing in my tummy this morning. It went away. I've just laid on my stomach and ended up in pain for ten minute all under my lower ribs. Had to breathe through it and stand still until it went.

Question is has anyone else experienced this? Is it cramp or trapped wind? Something worse.

Perhaps had it four times in 10 years so it's fairly rare .

I am going with trapped wind or indigestion.

Does it feel like a tight band under your bra line, with some pain going through to your back? It could be gallstones. When you lie on your front you may have dislodged or moved them.

More painful than giving birth imo.

Could it be diaphragm spasm?

Goneroundthetwist · 17/08/2020 23:00

I get this all the time, cramp/spasm in diaphragm. I find stretching up and deep breaths cures it.

BrandNewShinyThings · 17/08/2020 23:15

As above, cramp in diaphragm, very painful but passes quickly for me, I get it when I'm in certain positions eg sitting propped up.

I get this every morning I sleep on my stomach usually goes when I get up. But hurts to breathe a little at first just that first initial inhale is awful. Mine usually goes after I trump tho so idk if it’s air

I get this, have had it occasionally since childhood. I think its precordial catch syndrome... if it is that its not serious but speak to your GP if you are concerned...
