To want a bigger house if DH continues to wfh?

Not really an AIBU

Is anyone else looking to move from their smaller city located house as a result of Covid?

I already wfh 2 days out of 3 so it wasn't a huge change for me (home educating & childcare at the same time was!). DH used to do about 3 days a month from home but like many city firms hes now looking at just 3-4 days a month in the office. There is not enough space for us to both wfh long term so thinking we should perhaps take the plunge and move further out.

Anyone else done similar or thinking of?

@Monkeyseesmonkeydoesnt I'd love a garden office but our garden is tiny! 🤣 My current "office" is in an alcove in the hall hence why DH has had to work off the kitchen table/sofa/garden when the weather is good.

@NotGenerationAlpha I like Hampshire, I've heard the schools are excellent & I went to uni there so am familiar with some areas.

We did this a couple of years ago as DH started working from home more. We specifically looked for a house with 2 reception rooms that hadn’t been knocked though and it can not tell you how much better life has been since we moved. Lockdown would have been absolutely intolerable to me if DH had been working in the living room or kitchen.. to be honest just thinking about it makes me feel a bit panicky Blush

Rooms with doors are wonderful things ❤️

I'm glad i'm not the only one who gets annoyed by their DH being around! 😆

We’re doing this right now!

We are! Staying in the same town (handy for Bristol where we both work) but upsizing. I worked from home quite a lot before lockdown, but DH only just got a job where he was able to. It's been pretty tricky both WFH in our tiny terrace - no space for proper desks or office chairs and the house just constantly looks a mess.

New house has a third bedroom and an extra reception room as well as a bigger kitchen so we should have plenty of space to work.

I say do it as long as your confident in your finances.
