Advice on mother... Being a teacher...

I would appreciate some opinions and my smug mother...

I really really try with my mother, but she is just uppidy!! Smug!! Better than everyone else!!

So she had been on furlough since march, she is a special needs teacher and has not been in contact or support with her students over these months. She hates her jobs but she stays for the pay (lives in london) despite moving out of london and buying a property outside of it. She now complains she cant find a job with the same pay were she is... but that is another story...

She also successfully took her workplace to court over an incident with a student and was awarded a lot of money, in which she fraudulently lied about her the extent of her injuries..

She is back at work the end of this month only 3 days a week, now i understand unison are there to support teacher etc etc. She just wants to do the bare minimum with confidence that she will continue to get a full pay no matter what. Because she does have a old permanent contract with them.

She even praying there will be a second wave so she doesnt have to go to work and still get paid... she is trying to think of anything and everything to not go back, she has no health issue that could make her vulnerable so she thinking of saying because she is black she is vulnerable therefore she should do the bare minimum. She is going to nip pick at absolutely everything she waiting for the school to mess up so she can grass.

I understand she needs security because she has a mortgage but for god sake...
I just find her so incredibly smug about everything. People have lost there jobs, houses and there lives!! And here she is so smug about how easy she got it.

Can anyone shed some light on pay and being a teacher and what changes could possibly happen in the future, because I think she is being naive thinking she going to continue working less hours the same pay.

She could be having a phased return which would mean part time to start and then build up to full time. This is often a recommendation from OH or the union or could be part of the school policies after a long time away from work on health issues. This would be on full pay.
