To want to cancel this weekend

Hi

Name changed as outing.

A few of us are going to Southport this weekend. This includes 6 adults and 4 kids. We were originally going to stay at Pontins however we chickened out due to bad reviews. The kids (6,6,4,2) were excited to go away so we booked a couple of nights at a Travelodge this weekend. I was hoping the weather would be nice for us to visit the beach and parks. However its forecast to rain 😩
I’m worried about what we will do with the kids, particularly in the evenings.

I really don’t want to go but I can’t get a refund ?

It’s a first world problem i know but I am panicking.

if I cancel I will lose £100

YABU- go
YANBU- cancel

Hey your wellies and just have fun (although weather doesn't look too bad!). Loads to do - Lytham, Crosby beaches. A trip to Blackpool or Liverpool ... just have fun

If you've paid and the kids are looking forward to it then you may as well go. What would you do in the evenings at home that you can't do there? The room will have a tv and internet! The kids are really young anyway so surely they won't be up late? By the time you've finished eating a little bit later than usual as a holiday treat they can go to bed, one adult stays with them and the others can go for a drink.or if the rooms are all next to each other take an old baby monitor and the adults can chill/chat/watch a film/play a game next door.

It's unlikely to rain the whole time you are there and even if it does it's not cold so just take waterproofs and mix being outside in the parks and beach when it's dry and shops/going for food/bowlong/amusement arcade/board games and "fort" with film on iPad in hotel room etc if it gets wet.

You can always come home after a night if you don't like it but personally I think it's worth giving it a go!

Go! The pleasureland fair is open (think you have to book) lots of arcades on the seafront to go in, plenty of nice restaurants to go to around where you are staying. Crosby and formby beach are really nice just take rain coat etc. Avoid pontins like the plague though...
