Covid 2021

Have seen the thread about social distancing ending in November and whilst I think that is a pipe dream, I'm selfishly really hoping we have some sort normality by spring.

I run a catering business and mainly do weddings - pretty much had zero business this year and lots of reschedules from March - October next year.

What do you think life will be like in March / April next year? I can hang on until then but if we have another summer of no weddings then my business will close :(

Sorry just to be clear, I know no one knows! I think I'm just looking for some hope as if feels dire!

We can but hope. I work for a church and we have had all our weddings cancelled now till January. It’s so hard to rebook them as brides keep asking if I think they will be able to have 100 guests by then and I just can’t give them an answer.

Good luck, OP.

I've nothing original to add.

It's possible some form of vaccine that has been properly tested will be available and rolled out in the UK.

It seems likely that the return to secondary schools with no social distancing will cause a significant rise in infections so more than the UK's current c5% who've had the infection would have it before next Summer and, unless immunity is fleeting as is possible with some corona virus, these people when they know will be more laid back about socialising.

As we've seen with some people's return to normality irrespective of risk, many people cannot live with constraints to their behaviour so some will rebook their weddings irrespective, unless there are government lockdowns reintroduced.

All in all, possibly a muddling through with some return to normality and some permanent changes in behaviour.

Good luck.
