or Dewbuy?

We've been watching the programme about the QE2 hotel and one presenter says Dobuy and the other Dewbuy. Aside from one of them being intensely irritating because it's wrong we are now wondering if we have been saying it wrong all this time!

@Ohtherewearethen, I shall call it Donut in future in your honour.

I used to live there and loathed it to the point where I quit my job and got on a flight to London with a couple of hundred pounds, so I probably would have had better fun in Donut.

If I were to speak more slowly and correctly I'd say Donut rather than Dewbuy.

@funkyblackbird I was but merely staff, and had my fair share of trying to stuff myself between a rubbish bin and a wall so as to be as inconspicuous as possible.

@StCharlotte The only time I ever saw one of the pilots was when a phone got dropped down a seat and he came out to try and get it out for us, no idea what his name was though

It's not much of a stealth boast. My BIL used to work for the ruling family too, I think they probably have several hundred people working for them at a time, and with the turnover it'll run into the thousands of people who used to. It's only the equivalent of saying 'I used to work for the Natural History Museum.'
