I have two nephews and a niece, I always remember their birthdays with cards and presents but never get anything on mine ! Twice now my niece has come to my birthday meal and said 'sorry I forgot to get you a card!" Am I being unreasonable me to feel miffed and slightly annoyed?! They are all grown ups so no excuse really !

How do you forget to get a card for someone who's birthday meal you are attending?

The clue is in the title Grin

@itsgettingweird my point exactly plus it's been two years running now she's forgotten !

I understand that some people don't 'do' cards - one of my adult dcs doesn't. However, they do buy gifts, in fact they are very generous gift givers and that includes presents for aunts, uncles and cousins as well as parents, siblings and grandparents. They would not dream of turning up to a birthday celebration empty handed. We are quite a small family and so we still tend to give presents to adults within the family. My nephews always give me something, just as I give to my aunts etc. Personally, if they are so dude as to forget you, I wouldn't remember them either.

Thing is if you don't do cards then say or say nothing.

But to say you forget means you knew you should have or felt you should have and couldn't actually be arsed!

No one forgets a card for an event they remember to turn up to!

And I'm as guilty as the next person at picking one up from the co op on the way because I genuinely haven't have time!
