This is not really a AIBU but what ever?!
I have been working throughout the pandemic without any time off. I feel really burnt out. I am exhausted emotionally and physically...I would love to go away preferably abroad but things are so up in the air right now.
Please make some suggestions for breaks in the uk. I am based in London and single so it's just me going away.
Thank you 😊

Whitstable? Only an hour on the train, can walk from the station. Busy but nice vibe.

If you’re ok with staying in a hotel this place is a good option:-

St Ives? Bit of a schlep but there are gorgeous walks along the coastal paths, safe swimming, the lovely Tate St Ives and Hepworth Sculpture gardens to look at and lots of pretty cafes to eat out.

Do you drive? Suffolk and Norfolk are nice for getting away from it all - Southwold is lovely but will be busy in the school holidays. Or the Lake District - you can get a train from London direct to Oxenholme and transfer to Kendal/Keswick as a base. Hythe and Deal in the South Coast are less busy and pleasant seaside towns.

I wouldn't come down to the South West at the moment, very crowded esp in Cornwall - sorry PP

Northumberland. Beautiful beaches not busy. Accommodation anywhere will be hard to find, there were very few rooms at all in the Lakes for instance, but you could book a city hotel in Newcastle for Northumberland.

I felt the same and just had four days away and feel so much better (picked somewhere with an outdoor pool so could feel like I was abroad).
