To think having massive saggy boobs is horrid and want surgery?

I'm bursting out of my 36J bras. They are soo saggy too and so heavy.

I've just had a shower, but realised I'd left my bra in the room DP is settling DS down to sleep in so I've put a vest top on with no bra and feel gross, saggy and am already covered in boob sweat. 😭 I was meant to be putting the rubbish out but it will now have to wait until I can retrieve a bra.

I get lower back pain during the night too.
Oh and my nipples now literally point south at the end of my massive saggy boobs. 😭

They've always been big but DS2, breastfeeding, and weight gain during pnd seems to have finished them off and I'm so self conscious and down.

I can probably never afford surgery anyway but AIBU to want it? If I won the lottery its the first thing I'd do.

@Ginfordinner They rarely grow back unless you gain weight / menopause / pregnancy to be fair she must have been unlucky if they grew for no reason!

@YourHandInMyHand

I would like to lose weight and will be doing so, but that won't reverse gravity. Even if I lost weight off of my boobs it won't reverse how much they sag or where my nips have ended up. Sad

I'd not even try to get this done on the NHS tbh. Personally I'd feel uncomfortable using up NHS funds for something like that. Yes my back hurts and it affects me emotionally but I don't think I'd try to go via NHS. And I know how hard it is for that to be approved.

Vests with support in them are absolutely pointless at the size/weight/shape of boob. Still low and heavy and squished together. I wore them overnight while I breastfed, I don't think they've helped my back or the sagging tbh.

I always have properly measured bras but even with them I'm uncomfortable they're just heavy.

If I lay down in bed without a bra on my chest sort of migrates and I feel almost like it's pushing against my windpipe. Blush

The risk of surgery does make me worry too though. My eldest has SEN and I feel guilty about risking surgery for something non essential.

Why on earth would you try and avoid having this done on the NHS if it's causing you all these problems? Have you been to see your GP? Seriously, go and see what they say.

BrandNewShinyThings Have you looked at Bravissimo? I’ve never tried their sleep bra, but I rate their pyjama tops.

tectonicplates · 11/08/2020 22:32

I think you should at least have a chat with your GP - no harm in just making one appointment for that.

It is worth seeing if any private hospitals have payment plans or if you can borrow money. I wouldn't usually recommend stuff like that, but if it's affecting your quality of life that badly then it will surely improve your life so much to have it done.

YANBU
I was lucky enough to have a reduction in my twenties and it was life changing. If I ever win the lottery I'm starting a fund for other women to access the surgery.

Ginfordinner · 11/08/2020 22:40

@alltohavetwo my friend didn't gain weight. If anything she lost some, by taking up running. She was just unlucky.

LittleRed53 · 11/08/2020 22:42

YANBU. I'm a 32GG and after 4 DC's mine point to the floor too. I can't look at myself naked in the mirror without feeling horrible about how I look (also 'mother's apron' belly which is awful).

I have shoulder issues which mean I can only wear strapless bras too, been like that for years. Even the best bra can't hold them up properly, so no matter what I wear I have heavy boobs practically at my waist, feel so matronly and frumpy and ugly...

It doesn't help that clothes shops never sell anything that is flattering on a full busted/heavy busted woman Angry

Thanks I'll have a look

I feel your pain. I have big boobs and no shoulders so my bras don’t even hold them properly as the straps slip off my shoulders. I personally wouldn’t get surgery as my mum had breast cancer and seeing her after her surgeries just means it’s not something I could ever put myself through unless I needed to to save my life, but that’s just my personal line in the sand. Definitely try losing some weight. I need to as well. Last time I lost weight they did get smaller.

Check out Sali Hughes's Instagram. She had it done in Feb and there are some interesting discussions in the comments under the post. She talks about advice too

Ginfordinner · 11/08/2020 23:08

@LittleRed53 and@Sistery have you tried bras with straps that cross over your back?

Sistery · 11/08/2020 23:10

@Ginfordinner No?! Do they exist?! I’ve never seen any. They’d be amazing as I spend all day every day pulling my bra strap back onto my shoulders...

Ginfordinner · 11/08/2020 23:12

They are usually called multi-way bras. You can wear them traditional style, strapless, halter neck or crossed over your back.

I'm a 38GG, so not quite as large as you, OP but I do know how you feel. I'm in my late 50s, and now only wear Molke bras, which are amazing. At the moment they are re-stocking but you can sign up to be notified when your size is available.

It's a good idea to use Boob or Bust's measuring method and Molke's size calculator together, as this will help you get a more accurate fit.

There's a really lovely Facebook group, which is full of support and help. There's also a trading group.

Customer support is second to none, they have a free returns policy, and are well-used to people having to try different sizes until they find the one they are comfortable with. Took me three goes to get it right!

I actually wear two different sizes because I have fibro, and some days are really painful, so I want something a little more forgiving. Normal size for me is L/super but on pain days, I wear an XL/super. Both sizes give me great support!

I don't work for Molke, by the way - I just really like their bras!

GuyFawkesDay · 11/08/2020 23:25

I am genuinely thinking of saving for a reduction of my 32H appendages.

I have so many other things more important to spend money on but they make me miserable. Everything looks like shit on me, I feel frumpy and matronly. I too feel like they suffocate me in bed.

slashlover · 11/08/2020 23:36

I've not even had kids and my 34K/34L (depending on the bras) flops all over the place, I have to physically lift them and move them out of the way sometimes. If you're bursting out of your bras then you need to be remeasured, it wont change everything but a good bra is a must for me.

CandyflossKid · 11/08/2020 23:42

36JJ here......and hate them! Especially in this hot weather

AintOverUntilTheCatLadySings · 12/08/2020 07:10

I wouldn't worry about wasting NHS funds - it would cost more long term sorting out your knackered back and other issues.

I know two women who got it done on the NHS so it is possible (maybe not at the moment though)
