Mobile hair dresser.

DS desperately needs his haircut and I’m thinking of booking a local mobile hairdresser. He has autism and mobile is easier for him and me. We used to have someone do it but they’ve not started back up since covid. So thinking of trying another.

Obviously I will ask her how she’s operating etc.

But what should I expect if she comes to the house? Would DS need a face covering ? he is 10 so technically exempt but not sure if it’s any different for hair cutting? Is he still exempt?

Do I need to wear one? I will send hubby and little one out so it’s just me and DS at home.

I don’t mind wearing one but not sure how mobile hairdressers are operating!

Any mobile hairdressers help me out here? DS has autism and I cannot guarantee he’ll wear a face covering for long so not sure what to do.

His hair is so long though!

Posting here for traffic.

We have a mobile hairdresser and she has been twice since they were allowed to start back , she wears a mask we don’t ( our choice ) .

Same here - she had a visor, we didn’t wear a mask. She came in the back door straight into the kitchen and we had the door and windows open. Once she left I cleaned everything down. She is a personal friend though, so there is more trust that she wouldn’t work if she had symptoms etc.

I'm in Scotland. My mobile hairdresser had a mask on and asked that whoever was having their hair cut wore a mask. She also wore a visor when blow drying. We had our windows and doors open.

Ours wears a mask, we don't.
She no longer brings her Cape and only brings in the equipment she needs rather than her whole bag. We do it in the one room all windows doors open and only dc having hair cut plus me in room.
She no longer has a cup of tea.
She also said she has lots of new customers and hasn't lost any regulars.

Scotland here too, mine wore a visor and asked us to wear masks, we kept back door open. If your DS has an exemption, just advise the hairdresser.

I'm having my hair cut in the garden tomorrow - washing my hair just before hairdresser arrives. We have a gazebo if it rains.

In England the rules are the hairdresser needs to wear a visor, as from 8th August all clients need to wear a face mask.
Keep in mind though that's it's doubtful a mobile hairdresser is unlikely to come out just for a child cut
