To think enforced wristband sharing at a caravan site isn’t a good idea.

I’ve come away in my caravan to a caravan club site. The plan was to use my own loo, shower, etc but I have a split water pipe and am having to use the site facilities.

So only three people allowed in the block at a time. There is a pot of Milton fluid outside the block, you take a band and go in. If there isn’t a band you wait. There’s normally a lengthy queue. So someone comes out, drops a band in and someone immediately takes it out. Rubber wristband. I’ve googled, Milton takes 15 mins to work.

Not only am I worried about coronavirus I’m also worried someone might have worn the band on their wrist while wiping their arse! Grin. Obviously I’m washing my hands with gel when I come out. But the point is some people might not and it could be a corona spreading situation?

I’d rather they didn’t have the Milton rather than lull people into false security.

Don't wear the band?

Pick it up, put it in your bag, place back in the pot afterwards?

Agree it's a bit stupid though

Yanbu.

I’m not wearing the band, but still have to touch it.

Wear gloves?

Wash it with soap as you enter the block and again just before you leave.

Friend went to a different caravan club site and everyone got their own band.....there was a stick outside the loo block and you put your band on the stick. If there were three bands already there you had to wait.

But then what if you pick up the wrong band? Grin

I actually think it would be better to tell people to be sensible, keep your distance, wear a mask (not in the actual shower). 🤷‍♀️

If three people are having a shower you can be ages waiting for the loo. I’ve emailed a local caravan person who I’m hoping can sort my caravan out for me.

I do think a rubber wristband isn't the best thing, as some people at least will pop it on their wrists so they dont lose it, which covid aside, i would not be overly keen on after just a quick dip in Milton. The concept is good though, I hate it when places have we can only let x amount of people in, but have no way of indication when they're full. The corner shop is like that, no way to see in to count, you just have to pop your head around the door and they'll should you to get out if there's too many already in (obviously different if there's already a queue outside as you just join in). Perhaps one of those wooden hanging blocks you get? Pretty hard to forget you have one of those!

Pick it up, shove it in a sandwich bag without touching outside with band hand, sanitize your hands, when done in facilities shake band out of sandwich bag into milton, chuck bag in garbage and sanitize hands. (Obviously I spend far too long thinking through various scenarios - I'm sure my time could be better spent...Blush)

It does seem an odd way of doing it. Surely as you are either in a cubicle (So self isolating) or washing your hands and then leaving, this is a bit of a pointless thing to do?
I would be more worried that people aren’t properly squeegeeing the shower after use.
(No one ever seems to)

Im happy enough that personally I’m gelling my hands afterwards....but what about the people who think the Milton will have magically killed the corona after a five second dip? Will only take one person on the massive site to have it and it will spread like wildfire?

I’m a midwife ....think I spend too much time thinking about infection control!
