to think it's not unreasonable to expect to be able to order something if you can add it to your online trolley

Saw something from Argos that I would like.
Added it to my trolley.
Checked stock
Not available in any local stores and seemingly not available for delivery.
So basically out of stock.
You can't ask them to let you know when it's back in stock.
And they are even advertising it on MN with their targeted ads !!

I totally get things are out of stock - but there are no options at all except for them to tell you that it's not available for delivery or collection.

What annoys me about my local Argos is that my town has two - a teeny one inside a Sainsbury’s store, and a HUGE out of town one.

Guess which one is still closed from lockdown? Yep, the huge one, that can hold a larger amount and variety of stock.

Which one opened as soon as possible? Correct again, the teeny one inside the Sainsbury’s, that has hardly any space for stock.

Makes no sense - Until you remember that Argos is now owned by Sainsbury’s...

Rinoa to be fair to Argos they only got to carry on trading during lockdown because they had branches inside Sainsbury's - who counted as an essential retailer because they are a supermarket. If Argos was just stand alone stores they wouldn't have been allowed to open as they wouldn't have been classed as essential.
