AIBU to think about decluttering my 3 year olds toys?

Another baby on the way and we have no room. Obviously I'm not going to crazy and get rid of everything. But some of her teddies that look a bit worn out (she has so many). Which toys did you get rid of when your LO was 3? How do you stop the guilt? My husband doesn't want to get rid of anything but I'm sick and tired of cleaning up. We have storage boxes etc. But some of the things just sit there and if I show her she'll play with it for 5 mins then get bored. What sort of things did you get rid of? We have loads of balls but no ball put so I'm always picking them up. She never plays with it but just wondering whether I should keep it for the baby.

Mine are older now but I would get rid of a lot of the teddys and balls (they are a nuisance)
I still charity shop a lot most months I bring a small carrier bag to the charity shop. I don't feel bad at all. It's me standing on them and end up cleaning them.
Things like building blocks and wooden train track I keep.

Box up anything outgrown but you can tolerate for baby.
Donate/sell anything outgrown/not liked that you don't want for baby (I found I had a low tolerance for talking/crying dolls for instance)
Throw out anything broken
Thin out anything they have too much off

And make sure you have easily accessible storage. Another alternative is rotating if you are short of room.

Select a handful of baby toys for the new arrival and bag up anything dd doesn't play with.
This is an ongoing problem I find. We need to do a big clear out before Christmas or there is just far too many toys. Most of them don't get played with but end up chucked out of the toy boxes and lay on the floor until I decide enough is enough and order a tidy up.

You could box away a certain amount and rotate occasionally. That way you're not getting rid of stuff but will have less out at any one time and therefore less to tidy up!

I found mine suddenly loved all the baby toys again as soon as the baby wanted to play with them but the baby just wanted to play with the older ones toys.

We’d just manage to do a massive declutter with bags ready for the charity shop when lockdown happened. Everything has made its way back into my 4yo’s bedroom.

Mine are in their 40s and I still have some of their stuff, if I even suggest chucking the cabbage patch doll it's as though I were getting rid of my first grandchild.

We did keep all their Fisher Price sets, some were not sold in the UK as we were abroad, it's lovely to see the grandchildren playing with those.
