AIBU re Paternity Leave?

Hi all, this is a more of “Am I right” I guess!

Dp works at tesco who has a 4-week paternity leave policy. We had our DD on 20th July. Do work monday - friday. So my understanding was: 4 weeks from 20th July would mean he is back at work on 18th aug (the day following “4 weeks”)
Or am I calculating this wrong?
Dp says his manager expects that he would be back to work on 17th aug and agrees with him

Let me know you thoughts please!

Thank you

If he was off on 20th july then hes back 17th august

Felifox · 09/08/2020 05:59

17th Aug

nasiisthebest · 09/08/2020 06:04

I'd also think the 17th

PeriPeriMenosauce · 09/08/2020 06:06

17 August if your DP took the 20 July off.

If his first day off was the 21st, then 18 August.

Yep I think 17th, congratulations.

All of a sudden it makes total sense.
How wrong was I! Thank you all!

Don't worry you can still use the baby brain excuse for a while yet 😂

Dishwashersaurous · 09/08/2020 08:36

Yep day of birth included in the total. Which makes it rubbish for people who have multiple day labours.

Btw 4 week paternity leave is amazing. I didn’t know anywhere did more than the standard two weeks

Thanks again to everyone. Yh @Dishwashersaurous I was so pleased to see that they had made the changes a couple of years ago. Dp only got 2 weeks back in 2015 with Dc1 which flew by!
