I worked nights when my children were little. The only thing that kept me awake was keeping busy. If I sat down I ended up asleep

Unfortunately I work in respite care. So the house has to replicate bedtime. So I am very limited, can't make noise etc.

You could look at houses for sale online.

Download Bubble Wars, Pop Time With Simon's Cat and Plague Inc.

That should stop you sleeping for a few weeks.

Flow free is a good game too- quite addictive

It must be difficult trying to stay awake if you need to be quiet, I find it I sit down during a night shift that makes me want to sleep.

Do you have a phone or tablet? If so, binge watch something on Netflix, download some games to play brain test 1 and 2 are good, or something like sudoku to keep your brain working.

Do some paperwork or have a coffee.

Cheeeeislifenow · 09/08/2020 05:56

I'm still here, no coffee too noisy, paperwork all done but feeling like the end is in sight! Roll on 8 am!

You can’t even make a coffee? Jeeze it must be a very long night for you

Be careful driving if you have to drive home OP. I hope you don't, window down, coffee.

I hope you made it through op. I once had a job of nightshifts sitting with quite elderly vulnerable folks at the end of their time. If i had to be in the room (i.e. they were in a care facility so there was no other space for me to be) it was easier as they'd be restless so i could interact with them, soothing/tending etc., but i remember one woman was in a suite of rooms and i had to spend the night in a very comfortable living room type space outside of her bedroom with the door closed. I think i had that gig for a few nights (this was 30 + years ago so reflection is hazy). It was one of the hardest things i had to do! Every now and then she'd need me but the bulk of the time i was on my own in the dimly lit quiet, pre mobile phone.

Sort all of your emails. Delete them.

Look at your finances.

Look at holidays.

I need to take my own advice Shock

Create one of those album books online/app and choose the photos to go into it along with the captions and layout. Or create a photo calendar for 2021
