Our food is the same all year round 😂 we don't have a summer menu. I just wasnt brought up that way. If you want stew, eat stew and relish every bite. You have to take the simple pleasures at the moment

Stange - I've had a yen for stew AND DUMPLINGS since yesterday. Never lose my appetite.Smile

I make stew all year round. It's actually minimal effort and don't need to stand by while cooking so works for me.

I made lamb tagine today and thought I was maybe mad given the weather but it was perfect. Lamb in the slow cooker and some couscous made quickly before serving. Minimum fuss and delicious.

I've had several winter soups this week. I'm an idiot, but for some reason it is what I've fancied!

Hopethiswilldo · 08/08/2020 19:29

I made Delia's paella. Warm and comforting but still zingy and summery.

I was really fancying a beef stew for tonight but couldn't be bothered shopping - so now it's ham salad because that's what's in the fridge.

I have a cottage pie finishing off in the oven for our tea. What the weather is and how hot it is doesn't alter what we eat. It's definitely not all casseroles, stews and pies in the winter and salads and lighter stuff in the sumner. Enjoy whatever you have!

Earlier on we were discussing what we could have for dinner tomorrow. DH suggested a stew using some diced venison we've got in the freezer. I said "but it's going to be hot tomorrow " . Both DH and DS pointed out that people do eat stew in hot countries.

MrsMonkeyBear · 08/08/2020 19:38

I did a full chicken roast for dinner. But I could eat roast dinner every night no matter the weather.

TinkersRucksack · 08/08/2020 19:40

I've just made a really hot curry.

orangejuicer · 08/08/2020 20:33

Just waiting for DP to put DS to bed and then planning to scoff the stew, with a bread roll slathered in butter. Grin

I’m craving stew now. Even though I know it would make me even sweatier than I am now.

insancerre · 08/08/2020 20:36

I’ve just been to a Greek restaurant and had stiffado and it was lovely

Redcups64 · 08/08/2020 20:38

It was too hot to even eat a bbq for dinner today!! We had cereal for dinner with cold milk, and we struggled with that, it’s just too hot to eat

MingeofDeath · 08/08/2020 20:42

I made beef stew this week. It was a slightly modified Jamie Oliver recipe, was blooming lovely.

orangejuicer · 08/08/2020 22:21

It's supposed to be another hot one tomorrow, and it's spag bol for tea Smile
