AIBU to think ‘Normal People’ is just a bit....shit?

Honestly, everyone has been raving about it, especially during lockdown so last week I thought I’d give it a go.

I’m now watching episode 9 and in all honesty, I’m just sat here bored of Marianne’s sulky, miserable face and bored of all the drama and angst about absolutely nothing?!

I know there’s a few episodes left so I’m really hoping something actually HAPPENS, otherwise it really is 12 episodes of hardly anything happening?

I started watching this last night, binged about 6-7 episodes before I had to go to sleep. I'm loving it so far. The actress who plays Marianne reminds me a lot of Dakota whatsit who played Ana Steele in 50 shades.
I enjoyed those films and the books so maybe when i have finished the series I will read the book. I also enjoyed the twilight saga and am reading midnight sun so maybe that speaks for my tastes.
I thought the first time they had sex and the time they had sex after re-meeting at uni was very tastefully shot and actually quite beautiful. My uni experience was not quite like that although I did meet my DH

I liked how the show looked and I like it being set in Ireland. I also thought the acting was great. The story line was boring and I found the angst’y moodiness annoying.

I loved Fleabag and I loved Skins but not this.

I watched on the basis that a second-rate book (it really is) sometimes makes a much better screen adaptation. Gave up after five episodes. It's so DULL and still has all the problems of the book - the plot is full of holes and the characterisation is shallow. No one ever laughs or makes a joke. Plus the lead actress's transformation from ugly duckling into swan was as convincing as Jane removing her specs in Neighbours. Even the shagging was boring.

I stopped at episode 4, was only being urged on by my friend, but really I should have stopped at episode one. So boring, I also don't find the lead handsome or sexy otherwise I might have endured just for the eye candy.

Couldn't get past the first 10 mins it was so slow!
