To ignore the door to chuggers?

They have taken to door knocking where I live as they clearly can't accost people in city centres while they're out on their lunch break any more.

Have just watched one walk up our garden path while I was cooking dinner. She saw me there. I completely ignored the knock. Had one last week as well when we were both on conference calls who kept persisting. Feel like making a sign saying 'don't disturb me in my office'

Can't be doing with them. What do you do? Ignore the door? Answer and tell them to bog off? Or something else?

Ignore, ignore, ignore. Put up a sign if you want, or don't. Either way, try to stop caring. They're imposing on your time and patience. You don't owe them a thing.

I'm sick of people intruding into my life. Enough! I've implemented a strict policy of completely ignoring anyone I don't know, haven't invited, or who isn't clearly a delivery person (with a package for someone in this house!) in need of a signature.

Definitely get a “no cold calling” sign. I have one & it’s made a difference! If they do knock & I unwittingly answer I simply point to the sign (which is under the door bell 😳) & shut the door!!

I just say ‘do you have an appointment?’ They are so taken aback, I take the opportunity to close the door.

Very much so. 😉 I watch it every 6 months, i'd say!

I have a nice way of getting them to bugger off, cos i just tell them 'I don't live here, I'm the childminder'.

Even if they don't believe me, what are they going to say?? 🤷🏻‍♀️

When they think it's not my house and they're not going to get any money out of me, they scuttle away sharpish.

They may be Friends of the Earth. But they are the enemies of my blood.
