People become overweight for exactly 1 reason - because they consume more calories than they burn off. Some conditions and medications make it a lot easier to do this but at the end of the day it's about what you eat.
Actually you're wrong. Steroids don't just mean that you eat more, they redistribute fat around the body, hence the very common 'moon face' appearance of people on Steroids.

@Porcupineinwaiting how would you suggest my mother eats less and moves more when she's surviving on 800 calories a day (a lot less than most HCPs are happy with) and stuck in an electric wheelchair?
