Just remembered these weird ink eraser things.. and how we all were sure they had pig wee in them..!? also that if you swallowed even one piece of chewing gum you'd have to have an operation to remove it ... Etc etc!

There was a rumour in my school about a gang called the ‘smilies’ who would grab you, slice the corner of your mouth and then tickle you until you cut your cheeks open,

I wholeheartedly believed this gang existed until I was about 14!

If you swallowed an apple pip, a tree would take root and gradually grow up your throat.

The ones that still affect me are swallow chewing gum (never have), someone told me the spiders/spiders eggs live at the bottom of bananas & I still always leave about 5cm off the end.

Those ink erasers were made of pig spit, not wee.

The rumour I remember was that when back to the future 3 came out with the hover boards, that they really had hover boards in the USA.

My mum said if you swallow chewing gum it'll tie itself up in knots inside you and if you pull a face and the wind changes you'll get stuck like that. The dinner ladies at infant school said if you eat cabbage it'll make your hair curl.

A woman at my mums work was convinced my mum couldn’t have children despite her having two. When my mum was a child she had an umbilical hernia and in after an operation she was left with no belly button. ‘You can’t have had children the baby attached onto your belly button inside!’ This was a woman in her 40’s with 2 children.

This wasn’t in primary school although the first year of high school. Someone said about how raspberries are vaginas (esp the little hairs being pubes ) and the bottom of bananas being penises
