I saw this earlier. Yes it's a bit repetitive but it makes some very good points.

Want to act how you think a bat acts and be your "authentic self" as a bat, lovely, crack on.

Want to force me to validate your belief that you are a bat, and impinge on the rights of biologically real bats.... no, I don't think so.

He can turn into a dog as well!!

I don’t mind the gender is a social construct point to be honest, as it’s obvious he is viewing sex and gender as synonymous.

I genuinely don’t understand when the difference emerged, I do know the difference now, but growing up I thought they were synonymous, and so t understand when this agreed difference occurred.
Has the dictionary etc always viewed them as different?
Some people just do not not believe in gender as being different, but still see sex stereotypes wrong

ChurchOfWoke I struggle with gender and sex as two different things too. Started another thread in FWR having not seen this and this was picked up on there.

My memory is that gender just gradually replaced sex in many places. I always assumed because ‘sex’ was a bit sniggery. I’m thinking about the 70s, which were peak Benny Hill, Carry on etc.

Nowadays talking to my teen/20s DCs, I go along with gender as a separate thing, but I don’t see the difference between gender expression and regressive stereotyping.

But then, my DCs try to convince me there is something called gender identity, which is very meaningful, and doesn’t map exactly onto biological sex, but still means people need to use particular biologically separated loos or compete in the female section of segregated sports otherwise they will feel uncomfortable and not included and it won’t be fair.

At that point, although I love them dearly, I wonder how they have racked up so many exam passes and wonder what jobs will be safe havens for people with such a lack of critical thinking.
