To just want a well fitting comfy bra?!

I am so fed up with having bra issues, I literally do not own a comfy bra. I was told about boob or bust so tried their way of measuring and that’s not right for me either.

I’m a size 18 however my boobs are quite small and not in proportion to the rest of my body. They are a funny shape really too a bit triangular 🙈😂 I’ve tried just buying the crop top type bras but they seem to just roll up round the band and make me look flat chested 😩

Can anyone help my find a decent bra?!

People rave about molke bras for comfort. I found boob or bust really good at finding your real size, such a better fit and wonderful shape but not at all comfortable!!!

Idontbelieveit12 · 01/08/2020 20:09

The Molke bras do look comfy, however I only ever wear padded bras because otherwise I look flat chested 😩 they are also so expensive. Damn my stupidly shaped boobs.

I bought a Molke bra and it was the right size according to my measurements, but it was too small and my boobs kept climbing out of it. Very strange.

Totally agree, sorry no help at all, I've wasted so much money and nothing fits. Nothing. M&S flexi bras are the best of a bad bunch for me

Idontbelieveit12 · 01/08/2020 20:18

I bought a new one the other day and I’ve worn it today and it’s done nothing but rub the skin near my armpit 😩

Have you tried going for a fitting? Not at M&S or Debenhams where they use a tape measure, but Bravissimo or an independent. I have an independent store near me and they're really good.

GJ14 · 01/08/2020 20:50

I have a similar problem. Curvy body with small boobs. I could never find comfy bras but there is one I will always wear. It’s a padded plunge bra from M&S

It’s called the: Sumptuously Soft™ Padded Plunge T-Shirt Bra A-E

They also do it in different colours. Only bra I’ve ever bought that is actually comfortable!

Grumblyberries · 01/08/2020 21:11

I don't think it exists. Not for my size and shape, anyway.

I'm high waisted, and a bit fat, and as a result, there is no bra in existence that doesn't roll up at the band after a few wears. I've tried smaller bands, bigger bands, fittings at various places; bras with side support, boning, crop tops, etc.

The only one I have that is sort of OK is a front zip old-style Victoria Secret sports bra, in a style that they have since changed (despite calling it the same name!), which is quite big and bulky and coloured, and not so good for everyday wear as a result.

So I feel your pain!

PerfectionistProcrastinator · 01/08/2020 21:16

I tried boob or bust and maybe I didn’t measure accurately but it was nowhere near correct for me.

I went to bravissimo and they were brilliant. Everything that I had read they would be. They fit you by eye, not by measurements. Got my size right straight off and then helped me find the right bra.

Idontbelieveit12 · 01/08/2020 21:34

@Grumblyberries this is me! Everything rolls up 😩😩😩

I would echo going to Bravissimo. You need someone who can use their eye, and also who understands the different brands - my boob shape suits Freya, for instance. This isn't something they told me, so you can work itb out for yourself, following thier guidelines, but I suspect you are stuck in a frame of mind that you have a certain back or cup measurement that isn't true (especially as different brands measure up differently)

I bought a molke bra for the first time recently- really comfy and doesn’t rise up/ bunch up for me at all. I’m currently 34 weeks with second baby- and still breastfeeding first- so I’m a funny shape overall but it’s still comfy. I normally end up with red marks where band sits - but barely had a mark on me after a day in the molke bra!

A friend had breast cancer surgery and her surgeon recommended a bra called the Reco Bra. It is front fastening and has no seams. It is designed for people who have had surgery but my friend still wears hers ten months after the surgery as they are so comfortable.

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 02/08/2020 00:19

I have had several post surgery bras - bought not because i am post surgery, more often in the M&S sale :)
I recently bought the most flattering comfortable & supportive swimsuit - also post surgery M&S sale.
Agree that cheap crop top styles can often roll up a lot, and rarely flattering - current favourite is a hollister bralette, no rolling up problems.

Dont know if this will help but I have recently converted standard bras to cross over at the back and they are so much better. Takes a bit of sewing and you may have to buy the elastic (company called sewing chest are good).
