Anyone in here had success with it?
I'm having real problems now, it's at night, I wake up bursting and just about make it to the toilet, never wet the bed, thank goodness. But I have to throw myself on the loo.
I am ok during the day, well, if I don't cough or sneeze.
Its horrible and shameful, I am 56 and my 2 'children' are 32 and 34, never had any problems, but its kicked in over past 2 years. I do need to lose some weight.
I've been doing pelvic floor exercises, but not sure how often I do them.
Then I read an article about the kegel 8, really good things, so would love to know others experiences, please.

Try the nhs squeezy app?

I have similar but different issues up weeing 3 -6 times a night from when I go to bed. Also struggle coughing and sneezing etc. Having tried one but watching with interest. I did spot an online yoga course for a tenner which I was thinking about.

Hello Hun. Well done you for posting. I suspect that no-one else knows about how dire this is for you. Becoming more mature has it's issues doesn't it?

I would suggest that, before spending money on some gadget that you speak to your GP's Practice Nurse. There is a lot that they can do to help. I wonder if you already know that they will suggest that you lose weight - but that can only help you avoid problems such as diabetes and arthritis if you don't already have these issues. I am certain that you will find them non judgemental, supportive and very helpful. You've made the first step by posting on here - it's going to be easier to say this a second time. Good luck! @dingledongle thanks, will take a look at that app.

@Splattherat never thought of looking for yoga course, will look into that too, will try anything

@Teadrinka thanks so much for your kind words. I hadn't realise what an issue it had become, but I realise its dragging me down quite a bit. So scared of smelling or actually wetting myself out and about or the bed. I would wear a pad at night, but am too embarrassed .
I do feel the weight is a contributor to it.
I will definitely speak to my practice nurse, she is really nice, I expect I am one of many.
Thanks again for being kind....

If it has come on suddenly, I wonder if you have a urine infection?
Please don't be ashamed, it's not pleasant for you, but you can't help it can you?
I am much younger than you and have varying degrees of urge incontinence. I can be fine for months and then it starts up again. Also, it might be worth keeping a fluid intake diary for a few days too to make sure you aren't drinking too much before bed. Flowers

Can you try a physiotherapist? They work wonders and can recommend a suitable machine as well as teach you what to do. There’s also an NHS app called Squeezy - it reminds you to do your exercises and times you etc.

Hello again K8.

I'm glad that you already know and get on with your Practice Nurse. I have a friend who's one &, I can assure you, she expects to see more than one person with your kind of problem in an average week. It's a price we women pay for bringing our beautiful children into the world Halo

But, as my friend says, men don't get off 'scott free' as they have prostates Wink

Just a word of caution: please don't be tempted to limit the amount of water that you drink. Wee should hardly colour the water in the loo-the darker the colour the more dehydrated you are. You could risk developing kidney problems.

Good luck. Maybe you could let us know how you get on? Flowers

Teadrinka · 29/07/2020 17:34

PS however, drinks such as tea can make you wee more. Water is best Smile

Please do not feel ashamed! I am a CSA survivor, and found smears, any medical stuff involving my genitalia really hard to do.
After the birth of a very big baby, I had some issues with prolapse, which I fixed with pelvic floor exercise, but 20 years later menopause and the loss of protective hormones has made my prolapse issues worse.
Using the Squezy app, and seeing a gyny physio via NHS has helped.
I cant make it better, but I can stop it getting worse.

Please seek help, and please, don't feel ashamed any further. 💕
