Redundancy Support

Thought I’d start a thread for all of us experiencing redundancy. My partner is about to be made redundant, not totally unexpected as in the car industry, but still a massive blow to our household. I’m watching him apply for every job going, and not even getting a response, let alone a whiff of an interview. I’m working all the hours I can in the supermarket and cleaning jobs after jumping off the career ladder a few years ago when we had our daughter, but not earning enough to replace his income by any stretch.
I know we can’t be alone in this, and just want to reach out to see how others are coping.

Try having a look here www.serco-ese.com/skills-support-for-the-workforce/SSR#:~:text=Skills%20Support%20for%20Redundancy%20(SSR,and%20individuals%20affected%20by%20redundancy.&text=Co-financed%20by%20the%20Education,service%20is%20delivered%20by%20Serco
Working on a quality CV is the biggest investment of time that can be made in this situation. Talk to the National Careers Service for help and support to move forwards, check out their website for loads of advice, and evaluate all transferable skills. Things will get better 🙂💐

My partner and I work for the same company and will be finding out on Wednesday whether the large number of redundancies will include us. I'm 27 weeks pregnant with my first baby too and so worried about how we'll cope. We both changed careers a few years ago too so our salaries are already pretty low Confused it would be great to talk to other people going through the same thing.
