Covidiots. Conspiracy theories, hostility and telling us all to "wake up"

It's rife. Where has this crap come from? Do they actually believe what they're saying or are they trolls?

My friends list just keeps going down because I'm so sick of reading the same rubbish.

I will attatch some photos to show you the type of thing I'm talking about.

Have you experienced anything like this among your extended circle?

I read a book recently about the psychology of conspiracy theories as my family are deeply in to them. It said that it is not a pathology but what our minds do when we are anxious and don't really understand what is happening. Part of our mind is powerfully driven to build narratives to explain events.

Basically, conspiracy theories are a bit like telling stories or fairy tales.

It's almost cult like. If you don't agree with them then you're automatically against them/an enemy. It's quite disturbing to see people behaving like that, delusional.

People are hospitalised for paranoid delusions they cannot control and then you have this lot, being deliberately stupid.

and the government has done that purposefully to crash the economy because they want to get rid of physical cash and have us all given a basic living allowance regardless of the jobs we have
I find it hilarious that they think that a Conservative government is trying to turn us into a Communist country. I could believe it if people were saying that a Labour government was trying to use this crisis as an excuse to introduce Universal Basic Income but they aren't in power...

No Autopsy Post-Mortem being done, so How can the stats be counted. How can you be sure an apparent virus exists.

I’m not here to say whether they’re right or wrong but if I had to put my hand on the Holy Bible I can see where this person is coming from. How do we or does anyone know the full and proper facts with out Autopys being carried out.

Why would you need an autopsy if you can easily test them for it instead?

As the meercat said. Simples. You take a swab and look at it under an electron microscope and lo there is a corona virus known to affect the lungs. Is it that difficult to believe?

I suspect such posts are part of the Illuminati's plot to stop us believing in the virus. If we don't believe in it, we won't take precautions and will all be infected.

I tell myself that these people feel frightened and that heir lives are out of their own controls for reasons they don’t understand fully. Therefore they invent reasons which they may or may not actually fully believe but it helped give them a sense of importance as they spout it as experts. I think the reality of the tentative nature of our existence is just to hard for some people so it is actually easier to invent some grandiose scheme which seems exciting and that humans are actually still in charge - even if not in a good way.

I had one yesterday who shared a post claiming not that the virus was fake but that it was a smokescreen for the world-wide child trafficking ring including pizzagate and wayfare. I reported it as fake news and muted her

My mums the same, she thinks the virus is fake, think the masks are acting like a muzzel to shut us all up.
She doesn't believe in vaccinations and will never have it, as Bill Gates is behind it and we will all be microchipped and it will stop women from getting pregnant. I could go on and on, as apparently she 'woke up' after 9/11.
She also thinks 5g has something to do with it all 🙄 She also thinks the hospitals were quite and the staff probably weren't doing much. This angered me as I'm currently training to be a nurse, so I now feel I don't want to tell her anything about how my course is going.
We had a massive argument about it after she asked if I'd give my DC's the vaccine and i said, if they needed it I would and she shouted 'child abuse'
And she wonders why when I come down I don't stay for very long.
Oh and she also loves Donald Trump

There is definitely a link among the people I know who are spouting the rubbish.

They all either smoke weed or used to smoke it, alot.

They do say paranoia is a common side effect..

I've just watched the 60 minutes Australia documentary about exactly this, covid conspiracies. The journalist interviewed two of them about their beliefs and both men made themselves look very silly.

One was, as I've seen in the people I know, very aggressive about his beliefs.

It comes down to trust.

Just as people didn't trust Tony Blair and his government when the MMR shit started, people don't trust the government now.

I watched the Jeffrey Epstein documentary on Netflix, the police had been trying to get him for years and at one point he did a "deal" and was supposed to serve 18 months for crimes which should have got much longer. There was witnesses stating that he was supposed to be under curfew and tagged at home for 9 months of the sentence, but he apparently went to his island.

Cover ups do happen, people in positions of authority are paid off all the time, but we supposed to believe the bullshit the government often comes out with, just look at all this Russia stuff and all the shit the Daily Heil wrote about Corbyn.

I believe covid is real etc, but if it all turned out years later to be exaggerated for some other bullshit reason it really wouldn't surprise me.

If you want to see some really mad shit there's a group on fb about nesara/gesara which has something like 17,000 members who believe Trump is going to wipe out all debt ~ mortgages/credits cards/overdrafts/ student loans the lot, all gone and then they going to get new dollars and a universal income, they all going to be rich, so RICH, oh and apparently Trump has taken all the gold from the UK royal family and from the Vatican, he now has all the worlds gold, that happened last week or maybe the week before 🤷‍♀️

Maybe it is a way of convincing themselves they can have some control / reducing a sense of danger or threat in a situation largely out of their control?

It's sad that so many people are divided over this. On MN especially, if you have a different opinion the insults and removing people from their life seems so extreme. This post is a perfect example of that.

For a virus so contagious I was expecting to see a huge spike from those packed beaches, then again from the riots/looting/protests/VE celebrations etc and that's not happened? There was something on the news about those who had and recovered from C19, who sadly died from something unrelated, yet their deaths were recorded as C19. It's ok to wonder what's going on.

The friends I see posting this stuff - I don’t know if they smoke weed, but they do seem quite vulnerable: my ex has had mental health problems; my neighbour has had a really rough deal in life; my former colleague - some of her behaviour was a bit odd when I worked with her and she’s forever starting up and closing businesses now; the parent of a child in my child’s class can barely string a coherent sentence together, but runs a successful business and is a bit of a ‘big I am’ and his need to constantly boast about how successful he is suggests some insecurities to me. It’s as if they need something to cling onto for some kind of control in their lives - which others on here have suggested.

When suspected covid, they do a chest xray. Even a ctpa shows the effect of covid on the lungs. They then show other symptoms, not necessarily a temp. We knew by experience which patients had covid before they showed full blown symptoms especially in the elderly. I'm sure they did post-mortems on the early cases to see how it effects the body. How would we know otherwise?

It's not though Merry, if anyone disagrees or wonders about C19 on MN, then you are an idiot and smoking weed . Accusations of being am anti vaxxer if you are sceptical about having the vaccine for your children etc.
Brexit was exactly the same, if you have a different, unpopular opinion then you are trash.
