By not having 'rest' days.....

I'm one of those rare people (maybe not so rare now) who enjoys exercise. The actual bit not just the feeling after.
Typical week would be day one: 30 minute interval run, 20 minutes weights or functional training, stretches or yoga.
Day two: 30 minute spin class, 30 minutes yoga
Day three - same as day one
Day four - same as day two.
Five: might do longer run still some weights
Six: day two
Day seven: may just do a bit on the bike and yoga not always weights.
I do get DOMS when I change my workout and I do eat well and drink lots of water.
I take a multivitamin and only drink Friday and Saturday nights - half a bottle over each night.
Husband doesn't drink.
Have exercised around my DC (7 and 11) - hi out early and do a bit of the yoga stuff at lunchtime.
This is my lockdown routine - if I were commuting into the city I would need a rest.
Am I damaging my body but not doing complete rest days.
Does anyone know of any scientific papers if I am doing it wrong?

What's DOMS please?

@Bumpsadaisie

What's DOMS please?
Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness. Typically sets in 24-48 hrs after heavy exercise. It’s that ouch feeling you get when you’ve been exercising or maybe doing gardening or lifting things around the house.

Thanks everyone who's understood me!
My quads and my hamstrings have felt sore and cramped during my heavier yoga sessions - which is a sign they are tired.
Whether I'm doing enough exercise or not...
I've used today's test day to do some core work without using legs or upper body.
It feels like a good thing as my core is horrendously weak - after 2 c sections.
I think I will use the 2 test days I plan to do more core and stretching rather than nothing at all.
I am addicted to exercise but in a good way I believe.

piscean10 age 19 I was told I had PCOS and would probably struggle to conceive when I wanted to try for a family.
That combined with having a career I really enjoy and want to last I think made me quite health focused.
When I was 19 Madonna was at her Like a Prayer stage and hitting the gym - she looked really good and I wanted to look strong.
I think I've done my best!! But I had a 'why' and that's important.

Reading some of the replies to my OP.
My 30 minutes runs and 45 minute spin classes are not moderate.
I do interval running and really do belt it during the high intensity sprints.
I also ram the resistance right up on my bike when I can and I really do push myself.
There's nothing moderate about my cardio stuff.

That’s good ok
Intense but certainly moderate in terms of time

Atadaddicted · 25/07/2020 17:23

That’s good “op”

Not a particularly strenuous schedule though so I think you’ll be fine.
