Post C-section girdle

I hope it’s ok to post here for traffic, the post-natal health forum seems a bit slow-moving.

I’m having a repeat c-section and I am considering buying one of these girdles. I didn’t have one for my first section, and I did heal well, but I remember feeling dreadfully as if my insides could fall out at times. I also now have an active toddler so I wonder if I would benefit from the extra support as I’ll have to be a bit more active myself.

I am a bit skeptical - on the one hand I like the idea of feeling securely held in and supported. On the other, there seems to be a strand of ‘aiding weight loss’ which disgusts me a bit as a marketing technique aimed at vulnerable women. Also, some of them are very expensive. Are some better than others?

Experience and advice would be greatly appreciated.

I never bought one but I couldn’t think of anything worse. My stomach was so sore/tender for about 8 months. I did have very good c-sec underwear and felt secure around my scar with them on - and they didn’t rub at all

I used one both times. Found them really useful. Maybe wear a thin vest underneath it.

I used belly bandit csection undies and they were fantastic

I had C-section support shorts which were amazing!

I'm on a c-section support group on Facebook and many women on there swear by high waisted compression leggings to help that "stitches bursting open" feeling.

I used one for the reasons you wrote - it made me feel better and more "secure".
